Anxiety and substance use are a common occurrence. People with anxiety disorders are 2-3 times more likely to have a substance use disorder (SUD) at some time in their lives than the general population. The relationship between anxiety disorders and SUD is complex and can vary from person to person. This talk will focus on some of the relationships between anxiety and SUD. Specifically:
- Self-medication & anxiety
- Triggering anxiety with substance use
- Withdrawal symptoms & anxiety
