Evelyn Field

Evelyn Field is a practising psychologist and has generated a social survival skills model for her treatment of adolescents, adults, health professionals and organisations. The model has been developed through her personal and professional experience and draws on the concept of social resilience, or the social and emotional ability to deal with the challenges of life. Field delivers her advice using a variety of styles, which are educational, informative and ethical, while also being entertaining.

Field is an accredited speaking member of National Speakers Association of Australia, and has spoken in numerous countries, including hosting a four hour intensive workshop in workplace bullying in Norway. She is a member of the National Centre against Bullying and is a fellow of and speaker for the Australian Psychological Society, which has seen her conduct over 600 media interviews on a wide range of topics. She has appeared on several news and television shows and was resident psychologist for channel 10’s “9 AM” and more recently channel 7 ‘Today tonight.’ Her exposure and speciality in child and workplace bullying enabled her to publish a bestselling book, “Bully Busting”, now republished as ‘Bully Blocking’ which has been translated into 5 languages. Field is also currently completing a self-help book on bullying in the workplace.

With years of extensive experience, Field has also been involved as a board member of The Mental health Foundation of Victoria for 20 years, and held the role of Honorary Secretary of the Australian Association for Mental Health for 11 years.

At this lecturer, Field will be presenting a detailed discussion about school bullying, including the impact of workplace bullying within the school, by parents and teachers. The lecture will assist in understanding a whole school bullying approach through outlining the types of bullying behaviour, the causes and the damage this causes to students, parents and the school. It will also outline how to resolve these issues for all concerned in a non-adversarial, collaborative manner while maintaining a safe and harmonious school environment. This seminar will be useful for parents, teachers and counsellors.
